Resistance Training for Weight Loss

For weight loss and reduction of your waist size, resistance training, also known as strength training, is very helpful.

The human body is not designed to sit at a desk! It is meant to do work hunting for food, bending to the earth digging and lifting and looking through trees and bushes for food. When we emulate these movements we turn the body into a healthier, better looking, fat burning machine.

Turn Your Body Into A Fat Burning Machine!

Weight Loss

Resistance training will preserve your youth and health, help you gain muscle mass and have the health, you want.

  • You'll enjoy more energy you often wish for.
  • You'll have greater ability to resist disease we need.
  • You'll LOVE the new you looking back from your mirror as you gain the appearance you desire.

Ladies, you will NOT look like a man because you are doing exercise. That only happens to “gym freaks” who are taking steroids. Normal women remain looking like fit, beautiful women!

Based on studies involving people with prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, and fatty liver disease, resistance training may also prove beneficial for belly fat loss and improvement of blood sugar balance.

One study involving  overweight teenagers showed that a combination of strength training and aerobic exercise led to the greatest decrease in visceral fat.

I will show you some great ideas for training you can do at home. After that I'll discuss Aerobic Exercise in more depth.

If you decide to start resistance training, it’s a good idea to get advice from a certified personal trainer.

Strength training should be an important weight loss strategy, and should be a part of your daily "life style." It is an important component in reducing abdominal fat, having a slimmer waist and better health.

Other Exercises For Fun

Studies suggest it’s even more effective in combination with aerobic exercise such as walking, running, Zumba or other dancing, or sports like badminton, soccer, volley ball, or swimming.

Yes! Go to a restaurant or club some evening, dance with your friends. It's part of your physical-fitness program. Do it and have fun with it!

For Resistance Training

For resistance training you can use the big rubber bands. They fit into an apartment nicely. They're light weight so if you move they pack into a bag and go along for the ride. If you have no money for that, you have books or a container of rice and these can be held in your hands or placed into a bag or back pack and you can wear it or hold it while doing squats or anything else you try.

The resistance bands cost less than weights and if you make a mistake and one falls on you, no harm is done! (I have a permanent lump in my lip where I took a weight lifting injury. The idea of floor exercises and bands is much better.)

And you know, with bands if you want additional resistance you add another band instead of another piece of lead or iron. They're great to own and use! I'll show some more photos and chat about this again in the next article all under the discussion of weight loss or weight reduction.

Next visit I will show you some great ideas for training you can do at home and some of it requires no equipment and costs nothing.
