NOTES FROM A REVIEW
“Best dim sum buffet brunch in Singapore”
If you are not Chinese here are three things to know about Singapore’s culture that will immediately help you. (1) Over 76% of the Singaporean population is Chinese. (2) From their early youth, many of these children are taught to work hard, seek excellence, and seek greater prosperity. To be prosperous is glorious. (3) They work hard and they release some of the pent-up work and emotional tension by going out for dinners and drinks.
The prosperous proud Chinese people naturally want to enjoy the fruits of their labor. They like to dress well, behave as civilized, proper ladies and gentlemen, and relax together enjoying the very best Cantonese food on the planet! And this is one of the primary places. They’re willing to spend in the area of $150 per person to do it! Yes! It IS that good. It’s worth the price to them, and if you’re a foreign visitor seeking to experience the very best during your travels, maybe it’s worth this very special destination lunch for you too. You must see their website for updated prices and other information.
This phrase; Dim Sum means “from the heart” in Chinese. Along the silk roads of China, small Chinese tea houses were made for merchants traveling and they added small dish snacks called Dim Sum.
Singaporean’s searching for the best dim sum and excellent buffets find both at Yan Ting’s Weekend Dim Sum brunch. (A bit faster and less expensive than a full course dinner.)
The famous Yan Ting Restaurant in The St Regis Hotel serves the highest standard of exquisite Cantonese dim sum buffets, with a HUGE menu of over 80 different dishes.
Such excellence of cuisine is not only about texture, and flavor, or beautiful presentation. Fine chefs are concerned about nutrition too!>
They want to be sure they satisfy all aspects of their patrons’ needs and dining desires so these patrons will return and spread a good reputation. This restaurant is beyond exquisite!
Space is expensive and there are fewer tables and a bustling crowd enjoy a smile to one another, then sit down for a grand lunch, especially on weekends. (Of course, these days we all mind the social distancing regulations. Fewer tables, more distance; thus More necessity to call for reservations.)
The roasted pork has an ultra crispy skin, one reviewer on the day he visited wrote, “the BBQ Pork could have been more succulent, while the Soy Sauce Chicken was lean, yet tender with good marination.”
That was one day, and every day is different and probably the BBQ Pork is better most days. Reviewers can write about food but they don’t cook, and can be heartlessly critical occasionally.
The Reviewer praised their Marinated Beef Cheeks and Double Boiled Abalone Soup with Chicken. Pork bones are also boiled together to further enhance the flavor of this clear soup, with hints of sweet wolfberry. Limited to 1 per person.
The Dim Sum Brunch menu at Yan Ting is extensive. It includes a variety of fabulously created dim sum, Cantonese favorites, for examples: soups, appetizers, seafood, poultry, beef and pork, rice & noodles, vegetables, and beautiful and delicious desserts.
It is impossible to taste everything on their wide-ranging menu.
You’ll just have to return for several visits to try it all.
The reviews for this brilliant restaurant are beyond compare. For connoisseurs of the finest Cantonese cuisine, this location is a destination you should not miss! I could continue for hours. It’s time for this review to end. It is perhaps time for you to plan your visit Yan-Ting
